What’s happening today in BARCELONA, NYC, MOSCOW, TEHRAN, BEIRUT, BEIJING.

BARCELONA
Today we have started the Aerial Robotic module in which the students were introduced to advanced software and real time drone flights, on Valldaura Campus. Big contribution by Marc Montlleo, biologist of Barcelona Regional, who showed us data maps and vizualizations connected with the urban fabric of Barcelona.

BEIJING
Start teaching students how to use GH and Processing doing site analysis, how to import investigation datas into software platform. A great lecture giving by Professor Sheng, about how to using space syntax as a tool to helping us doing big data research and Design strategy making.

BEIRUT
Students, in groups, presented their initial ideas and concepts for the installation, with first test on movements and dynamic behaviors, using sensors and motors.

MOSCOW
Processing session. Programming architecture.

NEW YORK CITY
Today we worked on mapping and Visualizing the Data from the four sites and translation into grasshooper to begin to connect the urban fabric with the Hyper-Map-Machine scenario. Also great lecture on ‘Urban Adaptability’ from Cordula Roser Gray.

TEHRAN
Morning and afternoon is spent collecting data from all over the city! Students are split into groups of 3, covering 9 various sites in Tehran. Lili showed some 2015 IaaC student projects for inspiration on performative models.
